Bereavement & Grief Programs
Community VNA offers bereavement and grief support programs at no charge for our hospice families, as well as for the community at large. We offer information and support programs for adults and specialized support programs for children.
Adult Grief Programs
Bereavement and grief support services are designed to help individuals recognize, understand and move through grief following the loss of their loved one. Grief support services are designed to assist families for the first 13 months following the death of their loved one. Please check our events calendar or contact our Bereavement and Spiritual Care Coordinator for details.
Monthly Support Group
This informational discussion and support group features a different topic on grieving each month. It is led by an experienced bereavement counselor and is open to any adult coping with the journey through grief.Meetings are held at Community VNA, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA, on the second Tuesday of each month, from 6:30 to 8:00pm.
Six-Week Grief Series
This six-week series for adults offers information, education and support on the experience of loss and guides participants with their journey toward healing. Meetings are held once a week for six weeks and are facilitated by trained bereavement counselors. This program provides participants with a workbook to use and keep. Pre-registration is required.
Specialty Support Programs
Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver Support
Community VNA offers a monthly support group for caregivers of someone with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementia. The group meets from 1:30 to 2:30 PM on the first Tuesday of each month at our Main Office, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA.

Parkinson’s Disease Support
This monthly support group is open to all affected by Parkinson’s Disease. The Southeastern Massachusetts Parkinson’s Support Group meets at Community VNA, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA on the second Wednesday of each month from 10 AM to Noon. Meetings include guest expert speakers, informal discussions and support.

Designed to address the unique bereavement needs of children ages 5-13, Kids’ Club provides a supportive environment where children who have experienced loss can safely express inner thoughts and feelings and explore greater understanding at an age-appropriate level.
Kids’ Club is held on selected days throughout the year. Participating children are guided by experienced hospice bereavement counselors who specialize in working with grieving children. Program activities include art therapy, simple crafts, creating memory books, story sharing and thoughtful discussions. Preregistration is required. Kids’ Club is provided free of charge to the community.
Our Adult Day Health Centers offer monthly support groups designed to help individuals and families understand the challenges of living with illness, disability and aging. We help people become more effective and confident as caregivers. All support groups meetings are free and open to the public.
