Job Responsibilities

The Quality Improvement/Education Manager promotes the quality improvement activities for the Agency’s Acute & Hospice services by maximizing efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration. This position assumes the lead operational role for the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs including infection control and employee health programs.

Job Requirements

  • Assumes the development, implementation and evaluation of Agency programs for the purpose of improvement of quality care and services delivered and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Assumes the administrator role for Point of Service, E-Learning, CHAPPS, Asper, VBP and other data base programs required to be used by the Agency
  • Participates in and ensures Agency preparation for certification surveys and involves staff at all levels in survey and compliance issues and education
  • Coordinates educational activities and programs to meet the ongoing needs of the office and visiting staff. Collaborates with department managers to accomplish this goal
  • Directs, coordinates and supervises the orientation program for all new employees
  • Analyzes patient care data, identifying potential concerns and develops and implements performance improvement
  • Assumes lead role in ensuring Agency is in compliance with the Emergency Preparedness Program/Plan and all other healthcare, state and federal guidelines/regulations
  • Responds to payment denials and requests for information and other applicable audit requests
  • Participates in client complaint process when warranted
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of the medical records department and all its related responsibilities and functions with a focus on regulatory requirements and reimbursement
  • Demonstrates a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks
  • Completes work assignments with accuracy and within Agency time frames
  • Requires minimal supervision and is self-directed

Job Qualifications

– Current Massachusetts state RN license
– BS in nursing or related field preferred
– Quality Improvement background/experience preferred
– Teaching experience preferred
– One year supervisory experience preferred
– Home Care experience or knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations required
