Job Responsibilities

Performs secretarial duties for the nurse managers and is an integral member of the nursing team. Responsible to ensure compliance with Face to Face Medicare requirements

Job Requirements

• Triage of telephone calls to managers
• Face to Face follow-up ensuring timely response from Providers
• Reviews and signs DAR’s as appropriate
• Maintains tracking systems and forwards to supervisor for approval
• Ensures completion of admission process/documents
• Routes completed admission packet to Quality Improvement/Education within Agency time frames
• Tracks outstanding OASIS documentation
• Types written communications as needed, i.e. letters, memos, minutes
• Copies material as needed for department functioning and distributes appropriately
• Answers supervisor’s/manager’s telephone as indicated
• Performs secretarial and clinical duties necessary for efficient team functioning
• Alerts teams of outstanding discharges
• Serves as back-up to Nurse Scheduler
• Positively contributes to all phases of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Contributions may include; identification of problem areas; recommendations to address problem areas; data collection; attendance at periodic QAPI meetings or participation in performance improvement projects
• Demonstrates a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks
• Completes work, care and documentation with accuracy and within Agency time frames
• Requires minimal supervision and is self-directed

Job Qualifications

• High School graduate with general business or medical office experience or equivalent
• Proficient with Microsoft Office to include Excel
• Detail oriented
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology required
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
