Job Responsibilities

Provides applicable resources to new and existing clinical staff to ensure the day to day functioning of the nursing department. Works as an integral part of the nursing department and is responsible to cover other clinical duties as needed.

Job Requirements

1. Provides operational and administrative support to the nurse managers
2. Participates in the planning and provision of the training and education needs of the staff
3. Collaborates with the QI/E department on the orientation process for new hires
4. Provides necessary mentoring to staff which includes but is not limited to classroom training, field/skills training and computer training. Strong emphasis on OASIS education and home care criteria and requirements
5. Works closely with the managers to develop action plans to improve care and to identify areas for improvement and educational procedures to effect care/change
6. Provides back-up coverage in nurse manager’s absence. May also need to do the same in the absence of a weekend and/or holiday supervisor
7. Participates in providing back-up coverage to to other departments as needed such as Hospital Liaison, Intake and Telehealth
8. Assumes the role of a Community Health RN as needed
9. Positively contributes to all phases of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Contributions may include; identification of problem areas; recommendations to address problem areas; data collection; attendance at periodic QAPI meetings or participation in performance improvement projects
10. Remains current with regulatory requirements

Job Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
– Minimum of two years of home health nursing preferred, minimum of three years of nursing experience required
– Current Massachusetts RN license
