Job Responsibilities

Share the responsibilities for the overall operations, programs and staff of the nursing department with a co-clinical manager.

Job Requirements

• Provides supervision, direction and oversight of client care services, nursing and clerical staff which include client and staff assignments, coordinating client care, coordinating referrals, assuring that client needs are continually assessed and assuring the development, implementation and updates of the individualized plans of care.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate staff ratios; participates in the recruiting, hiring, orienting and termination of staff
• Responsible for ensuring competency and proficiency levels of staff
• Participates in client conferences and case management activities
• Counsels staff appropriately and timely concerning areas of deficiency and excellence
• Conducts performance evaluations on assigned staff. Assists with development of new job standards as needed. Reviews and updates current job standards when indicated
• Assists with community relations and community educational opportunities
• Participates in budget process and works within its’ constraints and short and long range planning for department
• Ensures client satisfaction through client visits and other quality measures as deemed appropriate and applicable.
• Participates in client complaint process when warranted
• Submits written reports pertaining to department activities within specified time frames to
the Chief Operating Officer
• Positively contributes to all phases of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program. Contributions may include; identification of problem areas; recommendations to address problem areas; data collection; attendance at periodic QAPI meetings or participation in performance improvement projects
• Demonstrates a desire to set and meet objectives and to find efficient ways to perform tasks
• Completes work with accuracy and within specified time frames
• Requires minimal supervision and is self-directed

Job Qualifications

– Current Massachusetts RN License
– BS in Nursing or related field
– 2-3 years home care nursing
– 1 year supervisory experience
