Adult Day Health Care in Norwood

If your loved one who is living at home may benefit from nursing care, personal assistance, or increased activity and socialization during the day, Community VNA has the solution: Adult Day Health Care.

Norwood Adult Day Health Center, located in Norwood, Massachusetts, serves frail seniors, adults with medical needs, and disabled adults of any age who need support throughout the day. Norwood Adult Day Health Center is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and is a member of the Massachusetts Adult Day Services Association.

How We Help

At the Center, our staff provides quality medical care, including medication management, vitals signs monitoring, skilled nursing and counseling. Nutritious meals, exercise, continence management and personal care are part of our daily routine. We encourage friendships between participants through fun, engaging activities. Caregivers can feel confident knowing their loved one is safe and in good company during the day while they tend to other priorities.

What’s Unique at Norwood?

  • Old Country Store where clients may purchase toiletries, sundries, gifts, and items crafted by participants
  • Women’s Group and Men’s Group featuring discussions and activities
  • Music/Expressive Art Therapy led by a licensed mental health clinician
  • Snoezelen Therapy — a multi-sensory environment designed for those with Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia, as well as people with learning disabilities or Autism
  • Daily Exercise and Movement
  • Bingo, Karaoke, Trivia Games, Jokes and Riddles, Playing Cards
  • Cooking, Gardening, Arts and Crafts
  • Book Club (every Monday) with stories requested by participants, includes tea and cookies served on real china

Our program is staffed with outstanding Program Aides who work closely with participants to ensure safety, support, and comfort throughout the day. Specially trained Van Drivers are available in the morning and afternoon to provide safe, reliable transportation between home and the Center.

Transportation Services

Wheelchair Accessible Van Transportation

For participants who need it, we can arrange safe and reliable transportation for the Norwood Adult Day Health Center. We use fully handicapped-accessible vans with specially trained drivers, skilled in assisting the elderly and disabled. A separate transportation fee will apply. Caregivers may also choose to personally provide their own transportation for their loved ones from any town.

Caregiver Support

Caregiving for a loved one can be isolating and overwhelming, impacting the health and wellbeing of the caregiver. Norwood Adult Day Health Center offers support and resources for individuals and families coping with the challenges of illness, disability, and aging. Caregiver support and resources are available to anyone, whether or not they participate in our program.

Consider attending our caregiver support group held on the last Tuesday of each month at 10:00-11:45 am. We help people become more effective and confident as caregivers, and are able to provide free respite care for your loved one while you attend the meeting.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the case of severe weather the Center may either close entirely, close early, or suspend transportation.  In these cases the Norwood Adult Day Health Center staff will make every effort to contact the client or/caregiver and inform them of the change in schedule.  In the case of closure, a voicemail message will be left at 781.769.4495
