Community VNA sponsors various support groups which are free and open to the community.

Support for Caregivers - Support for Grieving

Our Caregiver Support groups are designed to help individuals and families understand the challenges of living with illness and aging. We help individuals become more effective and confident as caregivers and as self-caregivers. Caregiver Support groups meet monthly and all support meetings are free and open to the community.

Our Bereavement Support programs are free and open to anyone in the community grieving the loss of someone significant to them. We offer groups just for children and two types of groups for adults . Contact us for more details on dates and content.

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support

A monthly support group for those who are caregivers for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementia.

Alzheimer’s support group meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month, 1:30PM - 2:30PM, at 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA. The group meets every month except August. For more information, contact our Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group facilitator at 800.220.0110, ext. 1554.

Caregivers Support

For anyone serving as caregiver for a loved one, including caring for frail elders or adults with disabilities, a Caregivers Support Group meets monthly at each of our Adult Day Health Centers. The group meetings are free and open to the community.

Norwood Adult Day Health Center -Caregivers Support
Meets monthly on the last Tuesday, 10 AM – 11 AM. at Norfolk Adult Day Health Center, 595 Pleasant St., Norwood, MA.  Plus, for caregivers attending the support group, respite care for your loved one during the meeting is available at the Center. Mansfield Adult Day Health Center -Caregivers Support
Meets monthly on the fourth Thursday, 10 – 11:15 AM, at Mansfield Adult Day Health Center, 300 Branch St., Mansfield, MA. For more information, call the Center at 508.339.2119. No meetings Nov. or Dec.

Harmony Adult Day Health Center -Caregivers Support
Meets monthly  on the first Wednesday 11:00AM to 12:00PM at Harmony Adult Day Health Center, 725A Myles Standish Blvd.,Taunton, MA. For more information, call the Center at 508.880.3000.
 

Parkinson’s Disease Support

A monthly support group for people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers. The Southeastern MA Parkinson’s Support Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 10AM – 12 Noon at Community VNA, 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA. Meetings include guest expert speakers, conversation and support. For more information, call us at 800.220.0110.

Bereavement Support

Community VNA offers bereavement help and assistance through several programs offered at no charge, including a monthly Bereavement Support Group, a six-week Bereavement and Grief Education Series, and a children’s ½ day bereavement workshop called Kids' Club. All programs are held at Community VNA, 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA, and are free and open to the community. Bereavement Support Group
Held the second Tuesday of each month, 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, this support program features a different topic on grieving each meeting and serves grieving adults experiencing either recent or long term feelings of loss and grief.  The group meets every month except July and August. Six-Week Bereavement Support and Grief Education Series
Held once a week for six weeks, this education program explores the myths and facts of the grieving process and combines bereavement education with a supportive approach to understanding and beginning the journey toward healing. Kids’ Club – Children’s Bereavement Program
Held on select Saturday mornings, Kids’ Club helps children ages 5-13 to identify and express their thoughts and feelings surrounding the loss of someone significant in their lives.  For more information and for the dates of upcoming Kids' Club programs, contact the Bereavement Coordinator at 800.220.0110.
