Norwood Adult Day Health Center a good match for Tom

In the late fall of 2015, Norwood Adult Day Health Center hosted an Open House where family members and participants shared their stories about how adult day health services became a source of support and resources for them and their loved ones. One gentleman named Tom, who attends Norwood Adult Day Health Center shared his personal story. He talked of the friends he has made, new activities that have expanded his world and his improved perspective on his health. Since attending the center, over the last 10 months, Tom has lost 17 pounds and has increased his activity level to include frequent daily “laps” within the Center to keep his energy in check.

In this brief interview with Mike O’Donnell, the Service Coordinator at Norwood ADHC, you will hear first- hand how attending the Center has enhanced and enriched Tom’s life.

Harmony Received a Fall Boost

Thanks to an energetic group of employees from DePuy Synthes Spine, Inc. located in Raynham, the grounds and courtyard at Harmony Adult Day Health Center in Taunton are groomed for the season! This United Way Day of Caring took place in mid October. Their efforts make the courtyard welcoming for participants who are still enjoying the warmth of clear, sunny autumn days.

After much weeding, mulching and planting of mums the area was ready for the icing on the cake … pumpkins which were generously donated by a local farm. The best part of this United Way of Greater Attleboro/ Taunton Day of Caring, was the opportunity for several of our participants to work side by side with the DePuy Synthes Spine volunteers.

The courtyard at our Mansfield Adult Day Health Center, located at 300 Branch Street in Mansfield benefited from the gardening expertise of three Sensata Technologies engineers as part of The United Way of Greater Attleboro Taunton Days of Caring.

The Sensata volunteers spent several hours weeding, fall planting and refreshing mulch in the garden area of the enclosed courtyard at the adult day health center. The courtyard provides a secure outdoor space for participants attending the program.  Community VNA is grateful for the continue support of United Way of Greater Attleboro/Taunton and for community partners like Sensata Technologies.
